Yanmar Energy Systems CP35D2 Receives UL1741SB Certification
At Yanmar Energy Systems (YAES), our commitment to high-quality engineering means we are constantly evolving to meet the shifting demands of the North American energy grid. We are excited to announce that our Cogeneration (CHP) units have officially received UL 1741 SB certification for CP35D2 Cogeneration Unit through Intertek.
What is UL 1741 SB?
UL 1741 Supplement B (SB) is a safety and performance standard certifying that cogeneration, solar, and battery inverters meet advanced IEEE 1547-2018 grid-support requirements. It ensures inverters safely manage grid disturbances, control voltage/frequency, and support grid stability rather than just shutting down, acting as a crucial certification for utility interconnection.
In the past, systems had to shut down the moment they detected a small flicker in grid voltage. With this new “Grid Interactive Inverter” standard, our units now:
- Stay Online: They “ride through” minor grid dips without tripping.
- Support the Grid: They automatically adjust to keep local power steady.
- Communicate: They use standard languages that utility companies trust.
