Reflections from AHR Expo 2026: The Future is Efficient (and Gas-Powered)
It was an incredible week in Las Vegas at the AHR Expo 2026! Our team had a fantastic time connecting with the contractors, facility managers, and engineers who are driving the next generation of building performance.
The energy on the show floor was palpable. From AI-driven predictive maintenance to the rapid shift toward low-GWP refrigerants, it is clear that the HVAC industry is no longer just about moving air—it’s about intelligent energy management.
The Innovation Wave: What We Saw
This year’s Expo highlighted a major industry pivot toward hybrid and decentralized energy solutions. As the grid faces increasing pressure, the demand for high-reliability systems like Cogeneration (CHP) and Gas Heat Pumps (GHP) has never been higher.
Big News: The YAES Gas Engine Driven Rooftop Unit (RTU)
The highlight of our week was sharing a sneak peek of our latest engineering milestone: The all-new YAES Gas Engine Driven Rooftop Unit, releasing later this year!
While traditional electric RTUs can struggle with high peak-demand charges and grid reliability, our new gas-driven model changes the game:
- Drastic Peak Shaving: By utilizing natural gas to drive the compressor, you significantly reduce your building’s electrical peak demand, leading to massive savings on utility bills.
- High-Quality Engineering: Built with the same durability found in our CHP systems, these units are designed for mission-critical commercial applications.
- Enhanced Heat Recovery: Unlike standard units, our gas-driven RTU allows for significant waste heat recovery, which can be repurposed for domestic hot water or supplemental heating—perfect for aquatic centers and healthcare facilities.
Are you planning a mechanical room upgrade or a new build? Whether it’s a school, hospital, or hospitality project, our team can help you calculate the projected ROI of switching to gas-engine technology.
Looking Forward: Chicago 2027
We’ve already started the countdown! We are thrilled to announce that YAES will have a booth at the AHR Expo 2027 in Chicago (January 25–27 at McCormick Place). We look forward to showing you the full production model of our new RTU and discussing how our CHP and GHP solutions can future-proof your facilities.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat. The connections we made are the foundation of a more efficient, sustainable industry.
